Will I Run Again?

Serving as the Liberal candidate in the 2025 federal election was truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. While I would have welcomed a different result, I was fully aware of the challenges — the Liberals have never won this riding. My decision to run was not determined by political odds, but by a deep love for this unique corner of Canada and a strong desire to share my vision for North Island–Powell River.
Together, we achieved something remarkable: our campaign garnered more votes than any Liberal candidate in the past two decades (at minimum). That is a testament to the belief and hope we are building in our communities.
Although I am not your Member of Parliament, my commitment to our riding remains unwavering. I am determined to keep you informed about what your Liberal government is accomplishing in Ottawa, and how these actions can make a meaningful difference here at home. I will continue to spotlight the critical issues shaping our communities and explore how the government is — or could be — addressing them. Through regular blogs and thoughtful policy analysis, I hope to untangle federal politics, making it more accessible and relevant to all of us.
I am grateful and humbled by those encouraging me to run in the next election. Your support means the world to me. For personal reasons, I have not yet made a decision about seeking office again. With the timing of the next election uncertain — it could be called in a matter of weeks or not for several years — know this: whether or not I put my name forward again, I will remain a strong and passionate Liberal voice for North Island–Powell River.
